Land Rover TD5 direct Replacement Variable Geometry Turbo for the fits both Defender TD5 and Discovery TD5 Manual or Automatic.
This TD5 Variable Geometry Turbo (VNT) Conversion is the world’s first bolt on Variable Geometry Turbo conversion designed specifically for the TD5 powered Land Rovers. This turbo is designed to help you make good power gains typically 190-195 BHP and over 470Nm with the correct remap tuning, a little more may be possible (Cars maximum power may vary) depending on age, mileage covered, fuel quality etc but we know for sure this TD5 hybrid variable geometry turbo will help bring your Defender or Discovery TD5 alive once fitted and matched with the correct tuning.
All our turbo chargers are designed and made by Turbo Technics, who specialise in automotive turbochargers and associated turbo equipment. Turbo Technics are a world-class company acting as consultants to many car manufactures who use their turbo re-manufacturing facility for many car brands including JLR, which gives us the edge with our specially made Hybrid turbos as we know that they are built correctly and come from the same factory which Land Rover use for their own re manufactured turbos!
NOTE: TD5 fixed boost box / signal clamp or raised boost pressure limit within your remap is required for this turbo installation, as well as a remap to the main engine ecu to gain the best power output from your car and this hybrid VNT turbo. You can order the boost signal clamp by clicking HERE..
We insist on all turbo charger installations you fit new engine oil and oil filter as well as a new oil feed pipe when making your installation.
We do not advise fitting with snorkels or restricted air intakes, or on cars that have higher gearing than the Defender 1:4 transfer case due to the lag you could get from the higher gearing.
We strongly insist you fit this turbo ONLY along side a performance inter cooler that has at least 17 rows of tube at 62x8mm to maintain a good pressure balance and to help with charge cooling and that the turbo is fitted by a professional garage or workshop.
Fitting the turbo along with a snorkel or raised air intake may reduce the turbo efficiency as snorkels are restrictive to the air path. In some cases the race turbo can suck hoses flat if they are not of a very good quality. Turbos have no warranty if used for Race, Competition or Rally use on road or off road cars

A hybrid is not a factory standard turbo and is designed for high performance use, it carry’s a three month strict limited manufacturing fault warranty “Hybrid Turbo” return to base warranty only. Proof of expert fitting and the oil an filter change done when fitting may be needed for warranty claims.

This turbo is designed for OFF ROAD race competition use and MUST be fitted with an alloy intake, de cat exhaust and maff bypass pipe. This turbo is capable of more max power (up to 220BHP with correct tuning) than compared to the road version (up to 185BHP with correct tuning) it does give some lag in the lower rpm range until it spools fully due to the especially large internals it uses as its designed to be ran hard at higher rpm’s (On Boost) unlike the road going S208 version.
This turbo is not designed for smooth delivery road use on every day cars !!!

NOTE: TD5 boost box is required for this turbo installation (included) or remap boost re calibration as an optional extra, also in some hi flow cases a maff bypass needs doing to keep the air flow meter in a working tolerance. We strongly advise you fit this turbo ONLY along side a performance intercooler and a strong air intake pipe.

When you make the purchase from us you are agreeing that proof of delivery supplied by our delivery company (generally UPS) is sufficient and enough evidence to establish that goods have been received in good order. When you sign for them you are signing for them as received in undamaged order.
The manufacturing standard warranty is covered by Turbo Technics and is subject to strict conditions. Hybrid Turbos that are non standard spec are classed as a consumable item and are not covered under the standard warranty as a new standard spec turbo would be.
Because this turbo is designed for race use it carry’s a three month limited “Race Turbo” Warranty only.
