Control module

New functionality has been added to the integrated diagnostic system (IDS) that allows the vehicle dynamic suspension (air suspension) to be temporarily set in a geometry setting mode. This mode changes the suspension ride height tolerances to a lower/tighter range (±5mm) to allow for accurate geometry adjustment. The mode is set using IDS, but the IDS unit does not need to remain connected while the geometry is being adjusted. Activating the geometry setting mode will cause the air suspension warning lamp to be illuminated and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C1A00-54 to be logged. However, when the mode is de-activated using IDS, the warning lamp is extinguished and the DTC cleared automatically.

Cause:

Variations in geometry setting results have led to the introduction of the above suspension mode to improve setting consistency.

Action:

When adjusting geometry settings, follow the adjustment procedure in the workshop manual and use service information below to select/de-select the above mode
C1A00-46 Control module – calibration / parameter memory failure
  • The terrain response control module has indicated a calibration / parameter memory failure for embedded systems using FLASH memory. This is equivalent to EEPROM in RAM/ROM/EEPROM embedded systems
  • Corruption in the non-volatile memory storage system (EEPROM) in the terrain response control module
Rectify this DTC before attempting to rectify others. Record all DTCs logged and clear them. With ignition on select a terrain response special program, turn off the ignition, then turn back on the ignition and verify the selected special program is still active. If the selected terrain response special program is not still active and has returned to the general program, confirm if DTC has returned. Repeat procedure again once more. If DTC is still present install a new terrain response rotary control and control module.
